Health and Safety

-    Be sure to check with the CDC’s (Center for Disease Control’s) website regarding any health risks that may be present where you are traveling. It is possible that you should take malaria pills (if you go to many places in Africa or remote parts of China, for example), and/or get some sort of shot/vaccine. These shots may need to be done significantly in advance (some require 2 shots with a waiting period in between) so check ASAP especially if you are going to a developing country where you know you may be more at risk.

-     The World Health Organization (WHO) also gives health advice for travelers.

-    In case of a health (or any) emergency, it is always important to know where the U.S. embassy is located in the country where you will be traveling to. Be sure to find this out and keep the number and address on you at all times.
